The Konnichian Library, located on the 2nd floor of the Urasenke Center in Kyoto, houses the world’s largest reference collection devoted to chado and related subjects. In the reading room there is a wide range of reference books and a video viewing system. The book vault, which can accommodate over 120,000 volumes, presently holds about 50,000 volumes, including general and rare books, old documents, and magazines. A card catalog lists all of the books in the closed stacks. Except for rare items, works may be requested for perusal in the reading room.
