| Urasenke, one of the largest schools of chanoyu in Japan, is offering special classes in English at the Headquarters in Kyoto for those interested in learning more about Japanese culture. The classes are open to non-Japanese people living in the Kyoto area. Below are the details: |
| Venue: | Urasenke Konnichian Kamigyo-ku, Ogawa Teranouchi agaru |
| Dates: | Three Saturdays a month: 1st semester-April through July 2nd semester-September through December 3rd semester-January through March |
| Times: | Beginners class: 13:00 - 16:00 Intermediate class: 9:30 - 12:00 |
| Fees: | ¥10,000 per semester The Grand Master has waived the tuition Fees pay for sweets, tea, flowers, charcoal, etc. |
| Language: | English, Chinese, Japanese |
| Activities: | Practice session (keiko) to learn tea procedures Headquarters events, tea gathering and practica |
| Attire: | Kimono not necessary |
| Conditions: | One-year commitment |
| Certificate: | After one term, can apply for beginner's level certificate of permission (Kyojo) |
