Rosaleen McVITTIE Honored for Her Long Dedication to the Spirit of Tea

On November 26, 2007, Rosaleen Soshu MCVITTIE (founding president, Urasenke Tankokai Sydney Association; estb. 1973 as the Urasenke Sydney Chapter) was conferred the highest rank achievable by an Urasenke follower, that of Meiyo Shihan (Distinguished Master), at a solemn ceremony held in the morning in the Totsutotsusai at Konnichian. In the afternoon on that same day, at the 110th National General Meeting of the Urasenke Tankokai organization that convened at the Westin Miyako Hotel Kyoto, Mrs. McVittie also was honored for her efforts and achievements in spreading the spirit of Tea and fostering understanding between Australian and Japanese people.
