June 29 (Fri) In the morning, the delegates attended lectures given by the two specially invited mission participants: the former abbot of Horyuji Temple, TAKADA Ryoshin, and the noted Japanese author, TATEMATSU Wahei. TAKADA Ryoshin spoke on the theme "Learning from Shotoku Taishi," and TATEMATSU Wahei's talk was entitled "Together with Nature." The ship had reached Dalian Port by then, and when the delegates disembarked, they were warmly greeted by a delegation of local citizens.
