On April 30, 2005, the president of Rotary International, Glenn E. ESTESS Sr., presented Dr. SEN Genshitsu with the Rotary Award of Honor. This was in recognition of the outstanding service that Dr. Sen has given as a Rotarian and an ambassador of peace.
The presentation ceremony was held on the occasion of the convention of Japanese Rotarians at the New Takanawa Prince Hotel in Tokyo, to celebrate the Rotary's successes in promoting vocational ethics over the past century. Approximately 1,500 Japanese Rotarians were there to witness the presentation and hear Dr. Sen's acceptance speech. Past laurates of this high award have all been international heads or former heads of state. |
