Singapore President S. R. Nathan Visits Daisosho for
Tea at Konnichian

On May 14, 2009, during their official trip to Japan, Singapore President S. R. Nathan and his wife visited Urasenke Konnichian. Just two months previously, when Daisosho SEN Genshitsu was in Singapore, Daisosho prepared tea for the President at the Istana presidential palace, and this time he was pleased to greet him and Mrs. Nathan at his own home. The presidential couple and entourage arrived in a twenty-one car motorcade. At the Kabutomon front gate to the Urasenke Konnichian compound hung the flags of Singapore and Japan. Daisosho, after making tea for the presidential couple in the Totsutotsusai, guided them through the Tairyuken, which was decorated for the traditional "Boy's Day" festival.
