Solomon PASSY Visits Konnichian

On March 15, 2003, during their six-day visit to Japan as guests of the Japanese Foreign Ministry, Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Solomon PASSY and his wife, and accompanying officials and business leaders of Bulgaria, experienced chanoyu at Konnichian. The thirty-member group included Ambassador Petar ANDONOV of the Bulgarian Embassy in Japan, Ambassador and Mrs. ICHIHASHI Yasuyoshi of the Japanese Embassy in Bulgaria, and such representatives from Bulgaria as parliament member Dimcho DINCHEV, Foreign Ministry Cabinet Chief Krassimira IVANOVA, and Bulgarian National Television journalist Daniela Danailova KANEVA. They were received by Konnichian deputy tea master GOTOH Sokoku, who prepared tea for them in the central tearoom at the Urasenke Konnichian historical tearoom complex, the Totsutotsusai. Antoaneta GRIGOROVA, a second-year Urasenke Gakuen Midorikai student from Bulgaria, specially served as hospitality assistant and interpreter on this occasion.
